The pulse of Tokyo

Tokyo WALLS began with a simple idea: to capture the energy of Tokyo’s art scene and give it a place to grow.
This city holds countless voices — artists, curators, and galleries — each shaping a different part of its creative pulse.
Our role is to connect them, to document what happens, and to share it beyond borders.

The contrasts that define the city

Tokyo’s art scene is built on tension and contrast. In the streets, expression often meets resistance. Strict laws and social expectations make it hard for street art to exist, yet creativity always finds a way.
A sticker on a pole. A hidden mural. A fragment of color on concrete.
These quiet gestures show the courage to create in a place that does not always allow it.

Inside galleries, another dialogue unfolds. Independent venues and small collectives welcome both Japanese and international artists.
Together, they form a network that might be modest in scale but rich in ideas and impact.
Tokyo might not be the center of the art world, but it remains one of its most honest, unique and inspiring corners.

Our work

Tokyo WALLS was born from this energy. We started by creating photo books that document and celebrate it.
Everything is groomed and done in-house, from photography to editing and publishing.
Each edition is a limited run, printed with care and inclusion, shaped through collaboration with artists and galleries.
These books are not only publications. They are objects of memory: made to last and to be held.

Beyond our own books, we also work with artists and galleries on their individual projects. We photograph exhibitions, archive achievements, and create images that support their communication.
We are not a large studio. We prefer flexibilitycloseness, and authenticity.
What matters most is capturing what makes each work unique: the feelingthe detailthe moment.

A belief in presence

Tokyo WALLS is also about physical encounters.
We believe art truly lives through connection, through exhibitions, fairs, and conversations that bring people together.
In a world where most people experience art through screens, we want to restore a sense of presence.
The weight of a book in your hands.
The light on a wall.
The silence in front of a piece that makes you stop.
These are the moments that stay with you.

What drives us

Art is not only something to look at. It is something to live with.
Tokyo WALLS exists to give form to that belief. Through images, books, and the people who make them possible.
