そこには、Tokyo WALLS を福岡へ持っていくという発想に、どこか抗えない魅力がありました。街の中から自然に創造性が湧き上がってくるような都市だからです。2024年、太宰府天満宮という静かな空気に包まれた場所で、福岡アートブックフェアの第1回開催が発表されたとき、私たちはすぐに、これから始まる冒険の前触れのような静かな高揚を感じました。 福岡は長く、新しい表現が生まれる土壌として知られてきました。ここから生まれた KYNE は、日本を越えて広がる存在へと成長しました。ファッション、デザイン、食、そしてゆったりと流れる午後の時間――そうした魅力が混ざり合うこの街は、私たちの活動にとって自然な舞台でもありました。だからこそ、このフェアの存在を知った瞬間、ただ参加するだけではなく、福岡から生まれる何か意味のあるものを作りたいと強く思ったのです。 ただ一つ足りなかったのは、時間でした。出展が決まってからフェアの開催まで、残された時間はわずか3か月。しかし偶然というものは、不思議なタイミングで重なるものです。ちょうどその頃、福岡市美術館では KYNE による初の大規模個展が開催されており、地元のストリートアート・コミュニティとも、すでにいくつかの小さな接点が生まれていました。 それだけで十分でした。そこからひとつのアイデアが生まれます。『Fukuoka WALLS』。Tokyo WALLS を形づくってきた方法をベースにしながら、この街ならではの空気と感覚を取り込んだ新しい一冊です。 そこから始まったのは、3日間の短い旅でした。濃密で、喜びに満ちた、忘れがたい時間。Kyne、Noncheleee、Nyke とともに、それぞれの世界を可能な限り追いかけました。舞台は美術館の展示室から、小さなショップ、カフェ、そして街の奥まった場所へ。時には裸足で下水道に入り、遠くの海岸まで足を伸ばすこともありました。そこにある一瞬一瞬が、撮るべき写真であり、福岡の創造的なエネルギーを記録する断片となっていきました。 『Fukuoka WALLS』（300部・202ページ）は、こうして福岡アートブックフェアで無事に初披露されました。反応は、私たちの想像を超えるものでした。初日には長い列ができ、まるでこの本そのものが待ち望まれていた来訪者であるかのようでした。何より嬉しかったのは、多くの部数が地元の人たちの手に渡ったことです。この本のページは、まさに彼らの街に属するものだったからです。 そして最後には、まるで完璧なエピローグのような出来事もありました。数名の幸運なコレクターが、Kyne と Nyke に直接サインをもらう機会を得たのです。 Tokyo WALLS にとって、このフェアは単なる展示の場ではありませんでした。それは祝祭のような時間であり、アートという共通の言語で結ばれた二つの都市――東京と福岡――が出会う場所でもあったのです。
